Obituary for Terry G Sehestedt

Print
Terry Sehestedt passed away in the early morning hours of Sept. 14, 2018, at St. Patrick Hospital. Born Nov. 13, 1950, in Fremont, Nebraska, he was the third of five children born to William and Janice Sehestedt. Terry spent his early years in Fremont where he was active in scouting and spent many hours fishing, hunting and exploring the Platte River and countryside with his brothers and friends.

In 1967 Terry moved with his family to Missoula where he completed his education, graduating from Hellgate High School, the University of Montana and the University of Montana Law School. During his college years Terry worked for the Forest Service on the St. Joe National Forest, on road and trail crews, as a crew chief for a Heli-attack crew, and as a fire lookout. After graduation from law school Terry worked for Montana Legal Services in Butte and Missoula and then operated his own private practice in Missoula.

In 1993 Terry married Fran Hanson and in 1994 became the proud father of daughter Tracy. While his marriage was later dissolved, Tracy was the center of his life and his abiding joy until his death. His happiness was increased by the births of his granddaughters Bryleigh and Eliana and he treasured every minute he spent with them.

Terry is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Tracy and Pasha Blinov, granddaughters Bryleigh and Eliana Blinov, Missoula; his brother Michael Sehestedt (Kathryn), Missoula; sisters Amy Rogers (John), Anoka, Minnesota and Karen Beck (Dan Mitchell), Palos Park, Illinois; and sister-in-law Jordana Sehestedt, Spokane, Washington. He was predeceased by his parents and brother Allen.

Services will be held at a later date.
