Steven T Larango
433, Stefo, Steve, Steven, Sergeant, Captain Stratego, Karanga, Larango, Poppy, Dad, or Sir ... Steven Thomas Larango was known by many names, and his list of names were as long as his talents, expertise, and strengths. Soldier, Sheriff, SWAT, Bomb Tech, Search & Rescue, Divermaster, Lumberjack, Carpenter, Heavy Equipment Operator, Leader, Husband, Father, Brother, and Friend ... he could do anything and everything. Therefore, perhaps there is only one title that fits perfectly for a person like Steve - Superman.
Steve stood more than six foot tall, with broad shoulders matched to a powerful frame. Paired with an always cool and collected demeanor, his presence commanded respect. Steve’s voice, confident and assured, demanded attention whether calm in counsel or booming in action. First into the fray, and last off the field, Steve was the man you always called and wanted on your team - regardless of the task or action at hand.
For those who knew Steve only for a moment, or for those who knew him for many years, there was always one common denominator to what we said about Steve -he was a special man. Steve touched the lives of everyone he met, and left a piece of himself nearly everywhere he went. And each piece will echo in our hearts for an eternity.
Steve’s words were matched by action, and his flame burned brighter than the sun. Although he left this world too soon, Steve will live on, his legacy preserved through family - his wife (“his person”), sons, daughters, and grandchildren.
