Obituary for Ora Shrader
Ora M. Shrader, 91, of Missoula, died at CMC on Thursday, December 14, 2017.
Ora was born in Wolf Point, MT on August 22, 1926, to Theodore Rothe and Olga (Dravland) Rothe. Ora was personnel director at a bank in Wolf Point until she retired, but she was mostly known for her creative skills. She did intricate handwork as well as oil painting. She also played the organ and piano for the church in Wolf Point as well as for many musical events in the community.
Ora married Richard (Dick) Shrader on June 3, 1946. Both were born, raised, and lived in the Wolf Point area. In 2000, they moved to Missoula to be nearer to family. They celebrated their 65th anniversary in 2011.
She was actively involved in the First Lutheran Church, Eastern Star, Bridge Club, Birthday Club, and local musical events in Wolf Point.
She loved to see her grandchildren and great grandchildren and was able to attend many of their events once they moved to Missoula. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dick; her brother Eddie; and her sisters, Ann and Marie.
She is survived by her sister-in-law, Joyce (John) Eakins of Clyde, Kansas; daughter, Teresa Beed of Missoula; sons Lynn Shrader of Kenai, Alaska, and Donn (Barb) Shrader of Kila, MT; grandchildren, Lance Hudiburgh of Missoula, Amanda (Will) Barber of Belgrade, MT., Braden Shrader of Bozeman, MT, Darren (Sabrina) Beed and Darci (Dean) Dwiggins of Missoula; great-grandchildren: Dalen, Madisen, and Reagan Hudiburgh, Adelynn, Chandler, and Everett Barber, and Jayden and Jackson Beed.
Services will be held at Missoula Immanuel Lutheran Church some time after the holidays.
By her wishes, Ora wanted memorials to go to Immanuel Lutheran Church or Watson’s Children’s Center, both in Missoula.
